7,000 Acres of State Land Allocated for Deported Afghans in Jawzjan

Kabul: The Islamic Emirate has designated 7,000 acres of government-owned land in Jawzjan province to accommodate Afghan refugees deported from Iran and Pakistan. This initiative, ordered by the country’s leadership, aims to support displaced families through land distribution and humanitarian assistance.

Jawzjan Governor Gul Haidar Shafaq confirmed the allocation, stating: "As per the directive of the Amir al-Mu’minin, we have identified 5,000 acres in one location and nearly 2,000 acres in another for the resettlement of returnees."

Many Afghans who have been forcibly repatriated from neighboring countries are struggling to secure housing and livelihoods. Majority of them lived there for three decades, urges the authorities to provide land, housing, and job opportunities.

Humanitarian organizations are also stepping in to aid the deported families. Recently, the international NGO Welt Hunger Hilfe (WHH) provided financial assistance to 940 families in Jawzjan. Amanullah Talha, Head of Refugee Affairs in the province, confirmed that each family received 42,760 Afghanis in aid.

According to the Jawzjan Department of Refugees and Repatriates, more than 4,000 families who returned from Pakistan over the past year are currently residing in the province, awaiting further support and resettlement opportunities.
